The untapped maple trees of Canada...

mmmmmm..... Syrup

Ah Blogging, bloggity blog blog blog. In the country I grew up in, we used to eat blogs when the weather ruined our beets crop - like it or not, it was an alphabetical progression. This fact taken into consideration, hopefully you can appreciate my hesitancy at the thought of writing - fortunately George has been posting at a rate which would disguise my blog-related apprehension and having finally shaken of a good portion of the post-school miasma, I thought it about time I made these machinations slightly less tyranical and more oligarchical.

For my first offering onto this word-page, I humbly present to you;

The Rural Alberta Advantage (or the RAA)

This band that hail from Alberta in lovely Canada need some introduction, as they are currently unsigned to any label whatsoever. This is not to say that they are not worth listening to, but rather that record labels are stupid. The RAA possess a sound not too easy to describe; it harkens back to the very early musical voyages of Neutral Milk Hotel - taking the archetypal indie/folk/rock sound NMH created  In the Aeroplane over the Sea and blending it with their more contemporary counterparts. There are flashes of the likes of Okkervil River, Sufjan Stevens, and their fellow Canadians Arcade Fire laden throughout their songs - giving an ultimate sound that is interesting to say the least, especially considering they produced the LP themselves.

The album is in fact called Hometowns,

Hometowns - RAA

And here are a few tracks off it, which I took a liking to.

Actually, these were more the only two tracks they had on their website, but the whole album great and I reccommend you check it out.
